UPCOMING/ON-GOING:

The 2008 SLISebration is scheduled for April 5th. The Alumni Association will meet with current SLIS students and faculty as well as present the Student Paper Award and Outstanding Alumni Award. The scheduled speaker will me announced soon.

2007 SLISebration:

At the 2007 SLISebration, Elizabeth Bolton was recognized as the winner of the Alumni Student Paper Award.

Ann Masters was recognized as the recipient of the 2007 Outstanding Alumni Award.

2006-2007 Alumni Executive Board Meeting Schedule:

The Executive Board is scheduled to meet on

2006 SLISebration:

On April 22, 2006, the SLIS Alumni Association, the Lambda chapter of Beta Phi Mu, and the School of Library and Information studies gathered for a one day event to celebrate the School. Some of the days highlights included:

• Introduction of new SLIS faculty
• Alumni Association business meeting, including the announcement of the Student Paper Award winner, Jayne Long
• Beta Phi Mu business meeting and new memeber induction
• Special Guest Speaker, Schott Nicholson, Ph.D, SLIS Alumni and Assistant Professor at Syracuse University, on "Building Bridges: the Importance of Service and Research"
• Dinner in the University Club

Over 70 alumni and spouses attending the events. The School plans to hold an annual SLISebration every spring.
