SLIS receives IMLS Grant - "Partnering to Build a 21st Century Community of Oklahoma Academic Librarians”
The University of Oklahoma School of Library and Information Studies (OU SLIS) recently received a $414,545 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) for the "Partnering to Build a 21st Century Community of Oklahoma Academic Librarians” Project.
OU SLIS is partnering with 9 Oklahoma academic libraries: East Central University, Langston University, Oklahoma Christian University, Oklahoma State University, Rose State College, Southern Nazarene University, University of Oklahoma (Norman), University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and University of Oklahoma Tulsa. The partnership will collaborate in recruiting and educating 15 new academic librarians prepared to fill leadership roles in providing services to underserved and minority groups. These recruits will be awarded IMLS-funded scholarships to earn a master’s degree in librarianship through the SLIS Master of Library and Information Studies online and face-to-face courses.

It is time for advising and enrollment for the Spring 2010 semester. This is the first semester that all student will use oZONE. This is the new portal to student services, and will replace enroll.ou.edu for online enrollment. You can also use oZONE to acces your un-official transcript, your email and your courses on learn.ou.edu.
New Faculty Member:
SLIS is happy to welcome Dr. Tommy Snead to the faculty this August. Dr. Sneed comes to Norman from Florida State University.
