Prerequisite: graduate standing. The purpose is to create an awareness of and sensitivity to multicultural heritages and diverse information needs of multiethnic populations served by libraries. Information needs assessment and analysis; program planning and collection development.
Prerequisite: graduate standing. General concepts of administration as related to libraries and information center management. Specific strategies and techniques are examined as possible methods by which an individual can affect change and accomplish organizational goals and objectives.
Prerequisite: graduate standing. Overview of the theory and practice of materials organization and description for the purpose of retrieval. Emphasis on catalog construction, the application of AACRII, Dewey Classification, Sears subject headings to print and non-print materials. Experience with national bibliographic utilities.
