Marielle H. HoefnagelsCurrent Research Interests and Subject Areas Available for Graduate Research

My scholarly activities focus on undergraduate education. As a faculty member with a joint appointment with Botany-Microbiology and Biology, my job has a higher teaching component than most. I teach a non-majors general education course in biology (Concepts in Biology, BIOL 1005) most semesters. I also occasionally teach courses in general mycology, introductory (non-majors) microbiology, science writing, a capstone course in biology, and an online biology course for non-majors.
I am also the author of two general biology textbooks (Biology: Concepts and Investigations and Biology: The Essentials), both published by McGraw-Hill. Finally, I am very active in the Association for Biology Laboratory Education, where I publish some of my ideas and learn about new lab activities to share with my students.
