| Students in the College
of Arts and Sciences must be advised by their major department prior
to enrolling for each semester. Zoology advising is accomplished
by a group of faculty and full-time staff in the Department. E-mails
are sent out to all Zoology majors in October for spring advising
and in March for fall/summer advising. In this email, each student
is notified of his/her advisor's name, location,
and method of scheduling an appointment. Advisors are assigned randomly,
unless a student's specific interests are known. The head of undergraduate
advising is Candice Morvant.
The purpose of advising is: |
|
- To answer questions, give advice, and check progress of Zoology
majors.
- To promote a connection between the student and the Department,
and to make his/her experience at the University of Oklahoma more
meaningful.
With questions about advising, come visit the Zoology Advising
Office in Richards Hall 211A (see campus
map).
The
Premedical Professions
Advising Office
is a separate advising office (it is located in Richards Hall 209
next door to the Zoology Advising Office) that provides additional
information and services for students interested in health-related
careers.
