Financial Support

Graduate teaching and research assistantships with stipends are available to qualified students. In addition, resident and nonresident graduate students may receive a partial waiver of tuition. Graduate students on assistantships or fellowships are also eligible to receive health benefits.

A variety of fellowship and stipend enhancement opportunities are available. These opportunities include the Adams Memorial Scholarship in Biology, and the Behavioral Neuroscience Fellowship. Many students also benefit from the Sutton Scholarship for Avian Research and Fisheries Research Fellowships. In addition to support within the Department of Biology, graduate students have the opportunity for one year's worth of support in the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History working with the curator in a relevant area. Research areas within the museum include: Vertebrate Paleontology, Entomology, Ichthyology, Ornithology, Mammalogy, and Herpetology.
