The micro compounder DSM Xplore 5cc is an extruder machine for developing nanocomposites. One of the biggest differences with the usual extruders is the amount of material needed. This particular machine can process 5 ml per batch, and therefore, only a pinch of the expensive nano-material filler is needed to run tests.
The equipment consists in a conical twin-screw extruder which can be operated in batch and continuous modes ensured by a recirculation channel and a control valve built into the barrel. Among its main characteristics, the machine can work at a maximum of 400 RPM and 350 °C.
