ARCHAEOLOGICAL AND FIELD SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES 2009

The Archaeological Institute of America, with the Oklahoma chapter of the AIA, and the OU Center for Classical Archaeology and Civilizations are pleased to announce that there are over 250 world wide summer opportunities for archaeological excavations and field schools. Many of these are in Europe. All are available for students to gain archaeological experience. No experience is required.

For full information, dates, and costs, and photos for the opportunities simply go to the AIA web site http://www.archaeological.org. Click “fieldwork” at the top of the screen and this will take you to the “Archaeological Fieldwork Opportunities Bulletin.” In this Bulletin, you will find many great opportunities for “digs” and field schools. Particularly exciting projects are available in Italy, Spain, Greece, and England. Many more projects are available in Portugal, Ireland, Russia, Jordan, Israel, Macedonia, Bulgaria, China, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Australia and Canada.

The Center for Classical Archaeology and Civilizations will begin its new series of excavations in the summer of 2010. Stay tuned.
