Air Force Student Information

Steps to Getting Started:
You should contact your Education Service Office at your duty location for assistance in getting started with your continuing education through OU. If you are ready to begin with the University of Oklahoma, College of Liberal Studies you can Apply Now.

Transfer Credit:
You may qualify for transfer credit from your military training for enlisted members we will need an official copy of your CCAF transcript. For officers, you may have graduate credit (if not over 5 years old) for such things as Squadron Officers School, (resident course only), Air Command and Staff College, C-17 and KC-135 Pilot Initial Qualification, C-17 Instructor Aircraft Commander Qualification, Air Battle Management, and Aircraft Maintenance Officer. This is not a comprehensive list so there may be other Air Force courses that also have graduate credit associated with them. You can always check for yourself by going to the American council on Education (ACE) Guide at http://militaryguides.acenet.edu/ and searching for your specific courses.

You will also need to go to your Base Education Office to request Tuition Assistance forms if you are using the AF Tuition Assistance program. If you are eligible for the GI Bill and plan on using your GI Bill education benefits, please check with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Educational Benefits.

Community College of the Air Force CCAF

Air Force personnel and veterans should request an official transcript from the Community College of the Air Force for work taken as an undergraduate, or from the Air University for work taken as a graduate student. Community College of the Air Force transcripts may be ordered by sending a request in writing to: CCAF/RRR, 130 West Maxwell Blvd., Maxwell AFB, AL 36112-6613, phone number (334) 953-2794 (DSN 493-2794). You may also visit their Web site. Air University transcripts may be obtained by writing to the Registrar's Office, 50 South Turner Blvd., Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex, AL 36118-5643.
DD Form 295. If you are not able to obtain one of the transcripts listed above, active duty personnel should submit a DD Form 295, Application for the Evaluation of Learning Experiences During Military Service.
DANTES — Students may also request a transcript from DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support) or USAFI (United States Armed Forces Institute -- tests taken prior to July 1, 1979). Many tests taken under the auspices of DANTES carry American Council on Education credit recommendations recognized by the University. Dependent Information

Active duty military spouses, retired military members and spouses; veterans and spouses; civilian employees and contractors on military installations are eligible for the military rates. All students desiring military rates must submit evidence of military affiliation before each enrollment.
