HOW TO GET STARTED
WITH YOUR CLASS

Online Students: First, you need to access each course syllabus through Desire2Learn – the course management system used University-wide. This requires a login process similar to the one used on the enrollment website. Once you are logged in, your current enrollment will be listed. Simply click on each individual course to view the syllabus. The course syllabi contain all of your homework assignments and textbook information. A list of text books can also be found Here. Please plan on purchasing your textbooks prior to the first day of class. Any questions regarding the syllabi and/or homework assignments should be directed to the instructor(s). Here is the link for Desire2Learn: http://learn.ou.edu/.

It is highly recommended that you send your instructor(s) an “introductory” email on the first day of class. Communication with your instructor(s) is vital to your success in this program. Please keep in mind that the majority of our faculty have other professional commitments in addition to teaching for the College of Liberal Studies; meaning, have reasonable expectations when it comes to replies to your emails.

You can confirm your schedule at the enrollment site: https://enroll.ou.edu/

On-Site Students: First, you need to access and print your course syllabi from our website: http://www.ou.edu/cls/schedule/. Once there, click on the “BLS On Site ALC Courses” link. Be sure you have selected the correct location for your onsite program in order to have the right syllabus for each course. The course syllabus will provide homework and textbook requirements, plus the classroom, date, and time of the class. Please plan on purchasing your textbooks prior to the first day of class. Any questions regarding the syllabi and/or homework assignments should be directed to the instructor(s).

Self-Paced Students: Once you are enrolled in your courses, you will receive a letter from Jennifer Gatlin that includes the web link to each course syllabus and contact information for your instructor(s). It is highly recommended that you contact your instructor(s) upon receipt of that information. The course syllabi contain all the course requirements as well as the required textbooks. Any questions about the syllabi should be directed to your assigned instructor(s).

Textbooks: Textbook requirements are located on the course syllabi. Remember to allow at least two weeks for ordering your books so they can arrive prior to the start of your class.
