Marilyn S. Bradford is supeintendent of schools in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma; her Master of Science in Public School Adminstration from the University of Central Okahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma; and post graduate and superintendent certifications from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Ms. Bradford has served in the public schools of Oklahoma for thirty-five years, as a teacher, principal, director, and superintendent. Ms. Bradford is active in professional and community organizations, and serves on numerous state and local advisory boards as a member or officer.
Louis A. Castenell Jr. has served as Dean of the College of Education at the University of Georgia since 1999. Castenell is a former chair of the board of directors of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE). He is also a member of the executive board of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and serves on the Academic Advisory Committee on Educator Preparation, an advisory council to the Georgia Board of Regents. Prior to coming to UGA, Castenell was dean (1990-99) of the College of Education at the University of Cincinnati and dean of the graduate school, of the College of Arts and Sciences, at Xavier University, in New Orleans , LA. He has headed committees on cultural diversity and multicultural education for two national associations of education, served as co-chair of Ohio’s National Commission on Teaching and America’s Future, and chair of the Ohio Standards for Teacher Education. He earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Xavier university, a master’s degree in educational psychology at the University o Wisconsin, and his doctorate in educational psychology at the University of Illinois.
