In 1961, the College of Liberal Studies was formed by Dean Thurman J. White. Since its beginning, CLS has offered adult learners degree programs they can complete on their time - on their schedule. As you explore our degree programs, examine the backgrounds and achievements of our deans, faculty, and staff, and review the excellent courses that we offer.  Interdisciplinary education for working adults has endured as the college’s raison d’être. With an adaptable and entrepreneurial resolve, coupled with the tenacity and tradition of the University of Oklahoma, the future of the College of Liberal Studies will continue to honor the innovative fire of its founders into the next 50 years and beyond.
