Prospective students can apply online or submit a paper application to the university. The online application is available at the OU application for admission page. If using this option, please select “Liberal Studies” as your online application type so that the correct admissions office receives your submissions. The paper application is available for download on the CLS website: http://cls.ou.edu.
The University of Oklahoma requires applicants to provide official transcripts from previous academic institutions attended before making a final admissions decision. That being said, the OU College of Liberal Studies’ mission is to provide educational opportunities for adult and non-traditional students. This includes individuals who may have been academically successful in the past, but because of career and additional life experiences, may now be excellent candidates for academic achievements.

Please refer to the CLS website for a walk-through and checklist of our undergraduate and graduate admissions criteria, and let our Prospective Student Services office know if you have any questions. Once all application materials have been received, a final admissions decision can be made. Admitted students will receive a welcome letter from the OU Admissions Office that includes their new student ID number. The student ID number can also be retrieved at http://account.ou.edu.
All students will be assigned an academic advisor who will serve as their primary point of contact for CLS. This advisor will provide a graduation plan showing prior coursework has been transferred into CLS and answer questions about CLS degree programs, academic policies and procedures, etc. Once students have been advised, they can enroll online through oZONE, OU’s student information system: http://ozone.ou.edu.
