What is the Association for Integrative Studies (AIS) and how may it serve students, faculty and staff? |
Dr. William H. Newell serves as professor of interdisciplinary studies and director of the Institute in Integrative Studies at the Miami University of Ohio. He is the founding president of the Association of Integrative Studies (1979) and today serves as the executive director of the association. Newell is a prolific writer with nearly 100 publications in the area of disciplinary studies and programming, including over 30 book chapters. He has served as editor for two journals and is a frequent consultant to colleges and universities. His most recent chapter, “Decision Making in Interdisciplinary Studies” from the Handbook on Decision Making, will be published in October 2006 and distributed to those attending the November 8 workshop.
