Perkinson Chair in Engineered Complex Systems

School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering
College of Engineering at the University of Oklahoma
Norman, Oklahoma

The College of Engineering at the University of Oklahoma seeks to establish leadership in the high-impact interdisciplinary area of Engineered Complex Systems.  Accordingly, the School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering is seeking outstanding candidates to fill the Perkinson Chair as a tenured Associate Professor or Professor.

We seek candidates with a passion for innovating at the interface between realization of complex engineered systems and model-based simulation and visualization in distributed engineering environments.  Some example domains include:

  • Model-based design, analysis, and manufacturing methods associated with the distributed realization of complex engineered systems, including life-cycle perspectives (e.g., concept development, product portfolio management) and emerging applications domains (e.g., aging systems).
  • Physics-based models for distributed analysis and design of engineered systems (e.g., energy, electro-mechanical, multi-scale) and materials and processes (e.g., multi-functional composites, sensors and nanostructures).
  • Educational courseware and appropriate computer-based learning platforms, anchored in scholarship and the learning sciences.

Candidates for the Perkinson Chair shall possess an earned doctorate in engineering or a relevant discipline, have attained the rank of tenured Associate Professor or Professor and have established a record of interdisciplinary scholarly publication in the field of Engineered Complex Systems.
