Two Tenure Track Faculty Positions in School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering

The School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma is seeking outstanding candidates to fill two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field. Successful candidates are expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses, develop a nationally recognized research program, and attract significant funding to support their research activities. Research and teaching expertise in the following specialty areas are of particular interest:

Aerospace systems analysis, design, and controls with a focus on modeling, simulation, and experimental characterization of aircraft, including UAS, and spacecraft.

Experimental mechanics including nondestructive inspection, structural health monitoring, innovative sensors and imaging techniques with a focus on aerospace, advanced materials, and energy industry applications.

The School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering currently has 21 full-time faculty members, and over 700 undergraduate and 70 graduate students. Candidates can learn more about the School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from its website (http://www.ame.ou.edu).

Candidates are invited to submit a statement of teaching plans, a statement of research plans, a curriculum vitae, and a list of at least three references. Review of candidates will begin on December 15, 2013, and continue until both positions are filled. The start dates for both positions are expected to be August 16, 2014.
