Accelerated BS/MS Programs

There are three accelerated dual degree programs available to ECE undergraduates:

  • The accelerated degree leading to a BS in Computer Engineering and an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, requires a minimum 3.25 OU and combined retention GPA for program admission. The program requires a minimum completion of 144-147 credit hours with a minimum graduation grade point average of 3.0 (combined and at OU, in the major, curriculum and overall).   • The accelerated degree leading to a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, requires a minimum 3.25 OU and combined retention GPA for program admission. The program requires a minimum completion of 143-146 credit hours with a minimum graduation grade point average of 3.0 (combined and at OU, in the major, curriculum and overall).   • The accelerated degree leading to a BS in Computer Engineering and an MS in Computer Science, requires a minimum 3.5 OU and combined retention GPA for program admission. The program requires a minimum completion of 144-147 credit hours with a minimum graduation grade point average of 3.25 (combined and at OU, in the major, curriculum and overall). Accelerated program elective requirements are different from the standard and accelerated program with the MS component in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Prior to enrolling in any graduate level coursework undergraduate students must have: 
1) Applied to and be accepted into the Accelerated Degree Program - BS/MS to earn their master's degree.
OR

2) Have submitted the form Application for Graduate Credit Courses Taken During Junior and Senior Years and be granted permission by the Graduate College to receive graduate credit for the courses that could potentially apply to a stand-alone master’s degree.

Computer Engineering students should also contact the School of Computer Science to seek further information if interested in the Accelerated Dual Degree Program for an MS in Computer Science.

Step 1:
Complete the OU Graduate College Accelerated Degree Graduate Coursework Plan form.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering/Master of Science (Computer Science)

Step 2:
