ECE - Tulsa Welcome Message

Welcome to the graduate programs in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Oklahoma Tulsa campus. Designed with students in mind, our goal is providing the professional and research skills necessary to successfully advance a student’s engineering career. We offer coursework toward earning an M.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering or M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering. We also offer a Ph.D. degree in Engineering that is aimed at mid-career engineering professionals.

Because our program focuses on graduate students, we promote excellence in research as a core value. Our curriculum emphasizes hands-on experimentations in laboratory settings, as well as analytical evaluations of this research. Students are consistently exposed to timely aspects of telecommunications and computer engineering, including photonics, optical fiber and free-space communications, RF wireless communications, quantum communications, and complex, intelligent networks and systems. Ongoing projects are actively examining next generation networks, Internet-of-things, data and network analytics, information theory, image processing, electromagnetic compatibility, and wireless coexistence. If this type of research interests you, our faculty and staff assistants welcome the opportunity to visit with you.

Our laboratory facilities are world class, and our faculty are internationally recognized. Our student population is diverse with nearly an equal number of students enrolled in the master’s and doctoral programs. With fewer than 40 students, our five full-time faculty are committed to working closely with each student, ensuring their success. The OU TCOM/ECE  research teams have averaged more than one patent each year throughout our program’s history. Our research is funded by national and state funding agencies, as well as private enterprises.

Thank you for your interest in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate program at the University of Oklahoma. We invite you to review our program requirements and learn more about how our students are advancing innovation in the electrical and computer industry.
