Biography
Robert Huck previously served as the chief engineer for the Center for Applied Research and Development (CARD), a senior research associate in the Atmospheric Radar Research Center at the National Weather Center and an adjunct lecturer in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Huck's research interests include: unmanned vehicles, surveillance and detection systems, optical networking and other fun toys. He holds two U.S. patents, and has authored or co-authored over 25 peer reviewed articles and publications.
Robert Huck retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1997 after 20 years of service to the country. He received many decorations including two Air Force Meritorious Service Medals, the Joint Services Commendation Medal, three Air Force Commendation Medals and an Air Force Achievement Medal. He also received the John Levitow Honor Graduate award from the Air Force Non-Commissioned Officers Academy. In 1993, he was selected as the Air Force Material Command Outstanding Engineering Technician of the year and the F-22 Systems Program Office Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year.
Huck's tours of duty include Osan AB, South Korea, Geilenkirchen AB, Federal Republic of Germany, Riyad, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and numerous other locations. Stateside Huck was stationed at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma City; Dyess AFB, Abilene, Texas; Richmond Blue Grass Army Depot, Richmond, Kentucky and Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio.
Huck was a radio relay equipment repairman, computer technician on the E-3A Airborne Warning and Control System, avionics technician on the B-1B Bomber, B-1B Central Integrated Test System Technical Lead at the B-1B System Program Office, and F-22 Integrated Diagnostics Technical Lead and F-22 Low Observables Maintainability Lead at the F-22 System Program Office.
Upon retirement, Huck returned to Oklahoma and received his B.S. in Computer Engineering, an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and his Ph.D. in Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. He was manager of the Intelligent Transportation Systems Development Lab in Norman and manager of the Telecommunications Interoperability Lab on the OU-Tulsa campus.
Huck is chief advisor to the Oklahoma Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the National Engineering Honor Society and served as a national official (District 9 Director) for TBP from 2004 to 2013. Huck is a member of Eta Kappa Nu and has been a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers since 1998.
