Your focus should be on progressing through the math sequence (MATH 1823, MATH 2423, MATH 2433, MATH 2443). This is the single greatest predictor of success in an engineering curriculum. You should also be exploring your options with respect to a specific major within engineering. Your orientation class and the Career Services office can help you make the appropriate choice.
You should have chosen a major by the first semester of your sophomore year. To delay beyond that term may delay your graduation as much as a year. You should also declare any minors you intend to pursue. If your major requires and application to take upper-division courses (Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering), you should plan your semesters to include all prerequisite coursework.
You should know exactly which requirements remain to complete your degree. You should discuss your elective choices with your faculty advisor to ensure that they will help you with your intended career path.
You should submit a graduation self-check to Williams Student Services Center, as well as get advised and enrolled as soon as possible.
You MUST apply for graduation and complete a Senior Exit Survey in Williams Student Services Center (*You will need to enter the following survey key to access the survey: aaaee; you will also need to enter the following PIN: senior). The graduation application is separate from the self-check and is a requirement to earn your degree. You can attend Graduation Gear-Up to purchase your cap and gown, announcements, etc. Commencement and Convocation are held at the end of the spring semester. Students who graduate in fall and summer terms are welcome to participate in these ceremonies.
