Incoming Freshman

DISTINGUISHED SCHOLARS PROGRAM (DSP)

The Distinguished Scholars Program recognizes outstanding entering freshmen who declare a major in engineering, meet our academic qualifications and have been involved in engineering-related leadership activities, with a two-year, $2500 award. Those selected will receive a scholarship divided between the student's freshman and sophomore years, with $1000 ($500 per semester) given their first year, and $1500 ($750 per semester) their second year. The deadline for the Distinguished Scholars Program is February 1.

In order to be considered for the DSP award, students should complete the University of Oklahoma Scholarship application, either the online application or a paper copy. All students who complete the OU Scholarship application and who indicate a major in engineering will be considered for the DSP. To view and fill out the University Scholarship Application, create your account at https://soonerspace.ou.edu.

MULTICULTURAL ENGINEERING PROGRAM (MEP)

The Multicultural Engineers Program chooses freshman students with the potential to contribute to the diversity of the College of Engineering. This is a competitive scholarship with academics as the main criteria for selection.  To apply, students must fill out the University Scholarship Application, as stated above, at https://soonerspace.ou.edu.

Those selected will receive a scholarship for their freshman year (cash award varies). Students have the opportunity to re-apply for the scholarship after their freshman year as well. Once students are chosen as MEP Scholars, they must enroll in ENGR 1510, the MEP Orientation class, for both semesters of their freshman year. The deadline for the Multicultural Engineering Program is February 1.
