moaning

Deborah Moaning, Oklahoma City, OK

I liked being able to talk to other students in engineering so that I could get their view of how it was like going to OU and getting a degree in different fields of engineering. I really loved the evening activities (laser tag, bowling, and movie) very much. I also like the faculty over us – they were really cool!

I had a lot of fun exploring the different branches of engineering along with making new friends. I liked having a small group and going out to do something fun each night was a great way to finish each day. I have been telling so many people about engineering camp, regardless of how nerdy it sounds, and I am very grateful for my opportunity to meet so many amazing people and learn so many new things at such an affordable price. It definitely made a difference in my summer and helped me decide what I want to study in college.

Christy Mathew, Flower Mound, TX

Coming to the BP DEVAS Summer Camp was one of the highlights of my summer. At first, I had no idea what to expect. However, I quickly learned that I was in for a week of not just learning about each discipline of engineering, but also meeting so many new friends who shared my interests in engineering. I'm so thankful to BP for funding the camp because without them I'm sure I wouldn't have had as great an experience as I did. This camp really opened up my perspective on how much women are changing the world and showed me how rewarding a career in engineering can be.
