Commencement Rain Plan
When and Where:
In the event of inclement weather, Commencement will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Lloyd Noble Center, 2900 South Jenkins Avenue, Norman, OK. Graduates and faculty should report at 6:30pm to the Lloyd Noble Center east and west mid-level entrances. No graduate processional will be held at Lloyd Noble Center. Graduates and faculty should go directly to the designated seating locations.
Note: Blankenship Drive on the south side of the Lloyd Noble Center is closed. Use of the southern entrances and exits of the parking lot will not be permitted.
Items and Searches
All bags will be searched upon entry into the Lloyd Noble Center.
Prohibited items must be returned to the owner's car or discarded. Any unlawful items are subject to confiscation, and the person in possession is subject to arrest.
Prohibited items include:
• Alcoholic Beverages
• Backpacks
• Balloons
• Banners, Signs
• Beach Balls
• Coolers
• Containers
• Explosives
• Fanny Packs
• Folding Chairs
• Food/Beverages
• Ice Chests
• Laser Pointers
• All Noisemakers (i.e., air horns, plastic horns, whistles, etc.)
• Pets (with the exception of service animals used by disabled guests)
• Personal Heaters
• Weapons
Admissible only for Commencement and Convocations only: Baby Seats, Baby Strollers, Umbrellas, Still Photography Cameras and Video Cameras.

How will I know if Commencement has been re-located due to inclement weather?
Notices of a change of venue due to inclement weather will be posted on the Lloyd Noble Center marquee, at The Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium and on http://www.ou.edu/commencement. You may also call (405) 325-0841 for information.
Commencement Rain Location Tickets Required
To ensure that each graduate along with two guests has the opportunity to participate in the live ceremony, graduates and guests must have a Commencement rain location ticket in hand for admittance into Lloyd Noble Center. Those without Commencement rain location tickets may watch Commencement exercises at one of the simulcast locations listed at the bottom of the page.
Norman campus Commencement rain location ticket distribution:
July and December 2008 graduates and May 2009 graduation candidates who did not pick up tickets at Graduation Gear-Up may pick up three Commencement rain location tickets from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday, March 9 through Wednesday, April 1at the Graduation Office located in the Lissa and Cy Wagner Hall, Suite 203. Faculty are allotted one Commencement rain location ticket. Faculty may contact the Graduation Office at (405) 325-0841 or commencement@ou.edu to request a rain ticket be mailed to them. Graduates must have their OU identification card in hand in order to pick up the Commencement rain location tickets. Commencement rain location tickets will be available for pick up during designated distribution times only. There will be no Commencement rain location ticket distribution the day of Commencement. Graduates, faculty and guests must obtain their Commencement rain location tickets prior to Commencement during the designated distribution times.
In the event that tickets are unclaimed by the April 1 deadline, there will be a distribution of the unclaimed tickets April 6 through April 17. July and December 2008 graduates and May 2009 graduation candidates may acquire additional tickets (number is yet to be determined and will depend on the number of unclaimed tickets available) at this time. Unclaimed ticket distribution will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Graduation Office located in the Lissa and Cy Wagner Hall, Suite 203. Students must bring their OU identification card to pick up their tickets.
Lost or stolen tickets cannot be replaced. You must have your Commencement rain location ticket in hand for admittance, so please bring your Commencement rain location tickets with you to Commencement even if inclement weather is not predicted. In Oklahoma, weather can change with only a moment's notice.
Lloyd Noble Center doors will open at 6:15 p.m. To ensure seating, tickets holders must enter Lloyd Noble Center by 7:15 p.m. at which time any remaining seating will be open to both ticket holders and non-ticket holders on a first-served basis.
Commencement rain location ticket holders in need of special accommodations must contact the OU Graduation Office at (405) 325-0841.
OUHSC campus Commencement rain location ticket distribution:
July and December 2008 graduates and May 2009 graduation candidates who did not receive Commencement rain location tickets during Graduation Gear-Up may pick up their three tickets from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 through Wednesday, April 1in Student Affairs, located in the David L. Boren Student Union, 1106 North Stonewall, Suite 300, Oklahoma City, OK.
In the event that tickets are unclaimed by the April 1 deadline, there will be a distribution of the unclaimed tickets April 6 through April 17.
