Minutes for the Meeting of March 3, 1997

  1. Lisa Portwood reported on the upcoming "Technology Tour de Force" to highlight technology use on campus and the TLI awardees.
  2. Bruce Mason discussed the faculty survey.  Bob Dauffenbach will have a draft finished within a week.  It will poll use of and access to technology, comfort with technology, and goals.  It was suggested that it also consider the use of resource centers such as ECN, GCN, etc.
  3. Bruce Mason discussed the idea of polling units on IT resources.  The goal is to understand the current state of the campus, and the possibilities for cooperation for site licensing of hardware, software, and maintenance.  This exercise should be as simple and non-threatening as possible.
  4. Deborah Trytten presented a first draft of the OU Web Policy white paper.  The discussion centered on the need for a procedure for handling complaints and issues of censorship.
