Office of Graduate Admissions
Graduate students at the University of Oklahoma are students who have earned at least a Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university and plan to pursue an advanced degree or a graduate certificate.
Students who apply for graduate admission are seeking admission to their chosen academic unit and the Graduate College.
Admission to graduate programs at the University of Oklahoma is a collaborative effort between the academic disciplines, the Graduate College and the Office of Graduate Admissions. Admission is based on an evaluation of an applicant’s overall record, experience, personal qualifications, proposed specialization, and an assessment of the likelihood that an applicant will succeed in, and benefit from, a particular academic program.
The Graduate Dean governs admission and enrollment in the Graduate College, utilizing the recommendations of the academic units. It is the purview of the Office of Graduate Admissions to admit students to the University who are approved by both the graduate academic unit and the Graduate College.
