COA Scholarships for Construction Science Students

Undergrad scholarship applications are due Feb. 1. Graduate scholarship applications are due March 15.

   

    Balfour Beatty Construction Science Scholarship
    Encourages students pursuing a commercial construction career
    to show leadership in student activities.

 

    Board Of Visitors Scholarship
    To facilitate student retention by providing economic assistance
    to students in the College of Architecture.

 

    Joe & Jayne Buskuhl Scholarship
    To provide economic assistance to academically promising undergraduate
    or graduate students who have limited financial means and are majoring
    in Arch, CNS, ID, LA, RCPL or Urban Studies.

   

    Conner Field Work Scholarship
    Awarded each year to the student or students with the highest grade
    in the fieldwork class.

 

    Construction Science Recruiting & Retention Scholarship
    To provide financial assistance to incoming freshman and sophomores
    and juniors majoring in construction science whose citizenship, leadership
    and scholarship have distinguished them from other students.

   

    Haskell & Irene Lemon Family Undergraduate Scholarship
    An annual award based on merit and awarded to students whose activities
    have demonstrated abilities to be leaders in the construction science program
    and in their future construction careers. Preference is given to U.S. citizens
    and Oklahoma residents.

   

    Haskell & Irene Lemon Family Graduate Construction Science Scholarship
    Intended to encourage and reward students for their activities in construction
    science extra-curricular activities and their involvement in the construction
    industry. Preference is given to U.S. citizens and Oklahoma residents.

 

    Lippert Brothers, Inc. Scholarship
    For a CNS junior or a graduate student with at least one more academic year
    remaining who has worked in the commercial or municipal construction industry
    for a minimum of one summer or equivalent period of time. Career goals of
    applicant must be focused on commercial or municipal construction and must
    be currently involved in the College of Architecture, Construction Science
    Division or student organization activities.

 

    Oklahoma State Home Builders Association Scholarship
    To encourage students seeking a career in the home building industry.

 

    OU Club Of Construction Science Scholarship
    Provides scholarship to excellent students who show leadership
    and need financial assistance.

 

    Putreavu Scholarship
    Supports an international graduate student majoring
    in construction administration.

 

    Retail Contractors Association Scholarship
    To provide assistance to an academically deserving student
    pursuing a career in commercial construction upon graduation.

 

    Raleigh K. Roussell Construction Scholarship
    Supports diversity in the construction industry and rewards a
    construction science student who has demonstrated potential for
    future success in the construction industry, through leadership
    in past activities.

   

    Dorothy L. Shaw Construction Science Scholarship
    Rewards a construction science student who has demonstrated
    potential for future success in the construction industry and who has
    demonstrated potential leadership through his/her past activities.

 

    Jason Henry Wittrock Memorial Scholarship
    To honor the memory of Mr. Jason Henry Wittrock by providing a scholarship
    for a deserving construction science student that has shown leadership
    in community service.

All of the scholarships listed above have an application deadline of February 1 for undergraduates and March 15 for graduates.  By completing the scholarship application forms above, you are applying for all of the listed scholarships for which you are eligible. Additional Scholarships Available to Construction Science Students

 

The following are additional scholarships that are also available to Construction Science students.  They have varying application deadlines and must be submitted to the appropriate organizations. We have tried to provide links when available. However, you will be notified of new scholarship opportunities; if you know of any additional scholarships, please let the Scholarship Coordinator know so that we can post them in this section of our website.

 

2/15      AACE International Scholarship Competition
             AACE International is a professional engineering society whose
             members are in the fields of cost engineering, cost estimating,
             project management, project control, and planning & scheduling.
             Students must complete an online application form and submit it by
             February 15 for the first round of judging.  In addition to this, students
             must submit by mail an official transcript and an endorsement signed by
             their advisor. Please contact Tammy McCuen to complete the faculty advisor
             endorsement letter.

 

11/01     Association of General Contractors National Scholarships
             Provide financial assistance for students seeking a career in construction.
             The award is also based on student’s involvement with leadership and
             community activities. Students from across the nation compete for
             these scholarships. Get more information on this scholarship.

 

SPR        AGC of Oklahoma Education Foundation Scholarships
             Applicant must be classified as a full-time student in a Construction
             Degree Program at OU, OSU, or OSU-IT within 40 hours of graduation,
             and maintaining a grade point average of 3.0 in their major. Students are
             encouraged to belong and participate in their respective AGC Student Chapter.

SPR       Dallas CSI Foundation Scholarship
             Please read the Dallas CSI Foundation Scholarship rules and regulations
             linked below carefully. The scholarships may only be awarded to a student
             with a minimum of three years of College/University credit completed and
             at least one year remaining to complete their professional degree.

SPR        Midwest Roofing Contractors Association Foundation Scholarship
             The Foundation’s purpose is to provide financial assistance to students
             pursuing curriculum at an accredited university, in the roofing industry
             or construction related field. Candidates may be an undergraduate or

11/04     TEXO Scholarship
             To encourage promising construction science students to continue
             their involvement in the construction industry in the North Texas area
             (DFW & East Texas) and to seek careers with TEXO member companies.
