Two University of Oklahoma College of Architecture students earned top honors in a national competition sponsored by the American Institute of Architecture Students and VT Industries. The competition challenged students to develop a door with attention to energy passage, security, universal accessibility, physical composition, and design. The design concept had to be iconic and set the stage for the next generation to associate transition from one place to another.

Students Look at Old Hotel Site for Rural Studio

A group of visiting college students saw the potential right away on Friday for a project meant to create a buffet of ideas for the future use of the place where an old, long vacant downtown hotel once stood before scorched by fire years ago. The nearly 20 students from the University of Oklahoma’s College of Architecture are in a new program there that’s stretching out to look at possible class projects in rural parts of the state.
