COA Students Win Research Award at the 2013 Undergraduate Research Day
Architecture student Peter Mall and Construction Science student Holly Snow won a Distinction in Undergraduate Research Award for their presentation at the Undergraduate Research Day on Saturday, April 13, 2013.
Their presentation was entitled “Why Use Compressed Earth Blocks?” was based on their work with the College’s current project using Compressed Earth Blocks (CEB’s) for Habitat for Humanity. Holly and Peter were instrumental in the energy compliance and construction documents submitted to the City of Norman, which resulted in the issuance of the building permit in 6 business days.
Dan Butko of Architecture and Lisa Holliday of Construction Science supervised the student’s work.
