Enrollment

Undergraduate versus graduate hours:

As a non-degree student, fulltime enrollment is determined between adviser and student based on requirements from home university.  Minimum enrollment for undergrad is 10 hours.  Minimum enrollment for graduate students in 7 hours.  Students need to remember that the reading level of courses tends to be very high so the suggestion of 12-14 hours of enrollment is quite overwhelming.

Students will submit course preference forms once they have been admitted.   All Business, Engineering, Art, Education and Graduate level classes in all academic fields need permission from professors before enrollment can be completed.   Most other classes can be added if there is a seat available.   This is very time consuming and enrollment can not be guaranteed before the students arrival.    Economic classes require a MATH placement test upon arrival so no enrollment will be done until then.

Students can add and drop classes the first two weeks of the semester.   Any changes after that have to be approved by the Dean and very rarely guaranteed.

Our office determines the hours of enrollment based on transcript, student workload and professors recommendation.

Grades

The University of Oklahoma uses a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) scale.  Classes may be graded A-F, S or U, P or NP, or I.  These grades may be translated into equivalent grades by your home institution according to their policies.  Click here for more information on grades.

A = 4 points    B = 3 points    C = 2 points     D = 1 point    F = 0 points

S = Satisfactory    U = Unsatisfactory     P = Pass    NP = No Pass     I = Incomplete

Transcript Request

A record of your grades is called a transcript. You must request this to receive your grades in your home country.  You can fill the Transcript Request form out by clicking here.  Please submit this document to the Education Abroad office and we will submit the requests for you to help ensure that your grades are mailed once the semester is over.

You must fill this form out if you wish to have grades sent to your home address via regular US Postal mail.  All transcripts are letter graded.  They can be translated/equated by your home university according to their educational policies.

With the students permission, one copy of the OU official transcript will be picked up by the Exchange Student Adviser and sent via courier mail to the home institution along with all other student transcripts from that same institution.  Any and all other copies requested by the individual student will be send via regular mail at their request only.  Grades can be viewed online two weeks after finals by logging into the Ozone website.
