Welcome to the OU Exchange Student Program

The first step in becoming an reciprocal exchange student at the University of Oklahoma is being nominated by your home institution's International Office.  Your application will not be accepted until we have received notification of nomination.

April 1 for Fall semester nominations
October 1 for Spring semester nominations

Important Notification about Application Process

Our application process is going online for Fall 2012.  The beta testing  is currently being done and the application will be available on April 6, 2012.   Once EA receives the nominated student's name, date of birth, email, gender and home instititution, an application will be created for them within our online admissions system.

All documents for the applicatoin process will need be uploaded through this online system with the students being able to track the history and process beginning May 1, 2012.

Original applications will NO LONGER be accepted.    Please contact Tina Henderson with any questions.

 

Important Notification about Bursar payments

The University of Oklahoma does not accept VISA credit card for payments in regards to any fees paid to the University Bursar office.  This includes any housing fees (post arrival), insurance, student ID card, meal plans and any student fees.  Student should apply for a Master Card, American Express or other major credit card.  If this card is used for any payment, you will be charged a 2.75% processing fee.

Exchange Application

Please use the nomination form to nominate your students!     

The following information will be required for admissions at time of application: 

  • Full legal name of student
  • University name
  • Birthdate and Gender
  • Current email address

Beginning Fall 2012, the required English Assessment scores are below:

TOEFL of 79 or higher (internet-based exam)

TOEFL of 550 or higher (paper-based exam)

IELTS of 6.5 or higher

Students planning to take Law classes but be a law student at their home institution and have a TOEFL of 90

**TOEIC scores no longer accepted beginning Fall 2012**

University of Oklahoma TOEFL institution code is 6879- Do not send scores to Admissions.  They will be uploaded to the student's online applicatoin.

Language Scores are not required under two conditions: 

  • English is your mother tongue
  • English is the language of instruction at your home institution
Important Notification on Housing
 
Beginning in the Fall 2012, the only on campus options for Exchange students is Traditions Square complexes.  The cost is $480* a month for a Traditions Square complex apartment.    *Prices are subject to change and housing is no longer guaranteed for all students due to space constraints.

Supplemental Materials

Upon acceptance to OU, students will be required to upload to their online application the following additional materials:  

  • Course preference form - list of courses to be requested at OU
  • Typed list of currently enrolled courses - certified by department
  • Financial statement - Certified bank document.

The bank documents can't be older than 90 days from acceptance.   The required proof is below:

a) 1 semester - $7,500 of financial proof
b) 
1 year - $13,000 of financial proof

Letter of support from account holder if not student - please use this letter if parents, friends, guardians, etc. are providing your bank documents.
