Study abroad is a an off-campus, credit-bearing experience designed to help you make progress toward your degree. Unlike independent international travel, overseas vacations or global volunteer programs the purpose of study abroad is to earn academic credit.
There are many different kinds of study abroad programs and there are a growing number program options for OU students to consider. Some students will participate in one, two or even three study abroad programs during the course of their academic career at OU. We especially encourage first-year students to consider participating on a study abroad program their first summer through a faculty-led course taught abroad or an intensive language immersion.
