The Gilman Scholarship Program offers awards for U.S. undergraduate study abroad students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding. It was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000 and is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs fosters mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries to promote friendly, sympathetic, and peaceful relations.
During the Spring 2012 application cycle, the Gilman Scholarship Program reviewed more than 2,700 applications for nearly 900 awards. Out of the 900 awards distributed nationwide, 4 OU students received the award! Check out their profiles and programs below.
