Students interested in being involved with the WaTER Center can do so in a number of ways:
- Take a class
- Join a research group (Graduate Students)
- Attend an event
- Join Sooners Without Borders
The WaTER Center also strives to educate the Norman and OU communities about the global need for improved drinking water security and sanitation through events like the WaTER Symposium and the K-12 Clean Water Poster Contest.
We believe that an interdisciplinary approach is necessary to finding sustainable solutions to the global water crisis. Furthermore, traditional models do not always provide the best preparation for the challenges of working in the field.
In effort to address these issues, the WaTER Center has developed a new WASH Field Methods course aimed at preparing students to work efficiently in-country. The next offering of the course will be in the May 2014 Intersession. The class is open to all majors.
