This course will explore the educational philosophy, goals, and practices of China and the US in cultural context with an emphasis on what the two countries can learn from the others’ strengths.
Special guests for this course will include: a) education faculty from Beijing Normal University; b) administrators from Jurong High School in Jiangsu Province; c) Chinese students studying at OU; d) OU students who have studied in China; and e) education and information science leaders from OU and Norman Public Schools, featuring Rebecca MacKinnon, author, Consent of the Networked; project lead, Ranking Digital Rights; Co-founder, Global Voices; Senior Research Fellow, New American Foundation.
