FIT CLASSES

OU Fitness and Recreation is proud to offer you a group exercise program that offers the latest and hottest fitness classes. The schedule is jam packed with great group fitness classes that will fit any taste or fitness level. With over 50 classes offered per week, you will have no problem finding the perfect class for you! Choose from high-energy Zumba® classes to challenging and stress relieving Yoga and Pilates classes. Highly motivating instructors will make it easy to meet your exercise needs whether you are just starting out or a veteran exerciser. Come join a fun and fantastic workout that will keep you engaged and energized all semester!

Pricing

OU Norman campus students must purchase a group fitness membership. FIT Pass memberships may be purchased during the FIT Pass sale occuring at the beginning of each semester for the special rate of $40 for the semester.  Memberships purchased after the FIT Pass sale are $55 for the semester and may be purchased at the HHFC front desk. Tax is added to all rates.   

For all other membership types, group fitness is included for the purchase of your membership. 

FIT Class Descriptions

Barre Flow
• Full body workout that fuses the best elements of ballet
• Strengthens, lengthens, and stretches you from top to bottom

Boot Camp/TRX® (Limited to 30 spots)
• Improves strength, agility and balance
• Uses circuit conditioning with variety of equipment

Cardio Kickboxing
• Increases coordination and stamina

Cardio Sculpt (Limited to 50 spots)
• High energy cardio and muscle sculpting for a stronger core and better balance

hardCORE (Limited to 40 spots)
• Improves core (abs and back) strength
• Uses a variety of equipment

HIIT (Limited to 30 spots)
• Combination of cardio and strength intervals with short bursts
of high intensity work and recovery

Indoor Cycling (Limited to 14 spots)
• Improves cardiovascular endurance using Lifecycle GS Stationary Bikes
• Designed for all fitness levels

Kickboxing Bags
(Limited to 25 spots)
• Develops strength, flexibility, and stamina utilizing a heavy bag
• Hand protection is required

R.I.P.P.E.D.®
• Resistance, Interval, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance, and Diet
• A total body workout

Pilates
• Focuses on breath and movement
• Improves core strength, posture, balance, joint mobility, stamina, etc.

PiYo®
• Continuous movements combining Pilates, Yoga, dance stretch
• Develops strength and flexibility

Strength Training (Limited to 30 spots)
• Burns fat and build muscle
• Uses TRX®, dumbbells, resistance bands, bars, and medicine and stability balls

Tai Chi

• Exercise and relaxation practice for health and longevity
• For all fitness levels

Get Pumped (Limited to 22 spots)
• Focuses on a total body workout for all of the major muscle groups
• Uses steps, body bars, and dumbbells

Yoga (Limited to 50 spots)
• Classical Yoga poses to develop physical health, strength, flexibility, balance, and state of mind

Yoga Flow (Limited to 50 spots)
• Increase strength, flexibility, balance with a smooth flow almost like a dance
• Focuses on proper alignment and gradual progression, safe for all levels

Zumba®
• A fusion of dance and hypnotic International rhythms
• A dynamic and high energy fitness class

U-Jam®
• A new hip hop dance fitness class that is dynamic and high energy fitness class

“Xpress” Classes
• 30 min. class of which it is named
