The University of Oklahoma School of Art & Art History is pleased to host the Oklahoma Art Education Association’s 52nd Annual Young Talent in Oklahoma Art Exhibit. The exhibition will be held in the Lightwell Gallery at the School of Art & Art History from March 13th through March 31st. A Reception will be held in the Lightwell Gallery on Saturday, March 31st from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with an Awards Ceremony at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art at 3:00 p.m. The University of Oklahoma’s Professor Marwin Begaye will be this year’s juror.

The University of Oklahoma School of Art & Art History is excited to welcome artist Thomas Thwaites. Thwaites will give a free, public lecture at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28th.
Thomas Thwaites is most recognized for his 2010 TED Talk on the “Toaster Project” and his recently published book of the same name published by the Princeton Architectural Press.

Friday, April 20th at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art's Mary Eddy and Fred Jones Auditorium: The 2011-2012 Charles M. Russell Center Biennial Symposium, “Decorative Arts and the American West,” will explore some of the region’s unique and often colorful contributions to the field. Participating scholars will discuss such diverse topics as ranch style furniture, regionally inspired pottery and silver-mounted saddles.
