I was a Board of Visitor member for at least 6 years; because a member can only serve two three-year terms on the board I am now an Ambassador.
I enjoy the theatre, ballet and, with my husband, share the love for music. This is why I decided to get involved with students in the College of Fine Arts. We established a scholarship to help a serious student who is trying to reach a goal, but may not be able to accomplish it because of financial problems. My husband and I come from comfortable homes, and both our children were able to finish all their studies without any external help.
After years of attending many events at the College, I realized what a pool of talented students we have. When I heard about a student forced to sleep in his car, or others that may not be able to finish for lack of funds, I decided to share and help, to the best of my ability, some of these student by way of a scholarship.
Since the School of Music is the largest department in the College, I believe it needs the greatest volunteer stewardship. School of Dance has Dance Partners which are of great help. No doubt that there are needs in other departments of the College.
I have been a Real Estate Broker for many years. I am a member of C-21 International Hall of Fame and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by Norman Board of Realtors. I was president of UWA (University Women's Association) in the early 1970's. I am a sustaining member of Assistance League and Junior League. One can find me in Who's Who of American Women.
Leon, my husband, is Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineers. We have two children, a married daughter who is a veterinarian, and a married son who is a neurosurgeon and the father of three very bright daughters.
