OU offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in choral conducting, choral conducting with church music emphasis, and music education. Students in the OU choral program enjoy a comprehensive educational curriculum that prepares them, through mastery of teaching, score study, musicianship and research, for a rewarding career in music. Students benefit from the extensive on campus performing conducting experiences, international study and the research of OU’s nationally-recognized music faculty. These award-winning faculty/musicians help students to develop into reflective teachers by linking applied research with practice through a variety of hands-on experiences. Upon completion of the program, OU choral students are in high demand for employment and have historically been recognized as successful, award-winning teachers.
Auditions are open to current OU students (all academic disciplines) and OU alumni from the Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts.
Prepare one song, any style, an accompanist will be provided.

OU Chorale is an advanced vocal ensemble comprised primarily of graduate and advanced undergraduate music students. Chorale performs twice a year with the Accademia Filarmonica, a professional orchestra, and also performs a cappella concerts both on and off campus. Participation in University Chorale fulfills a music major’s major-ensemble requirement.
Members of University Chorale have opportunities to participate in national and international performance tours.
Chamber Siingers will serve as the graduate conductors' recital chorus. A variety of repertoire will be researched, analyzed, rehearsed, and performed. Throughout the year, Chamber Choir will also perform at OU concerts and events on campus and in the community.
Men's Glee Club
OU Men’s Glee Club is a select large ensemble composed of students who range from freshman to graduate students, representing a variety of musical backgrounds and academic disciplines. The choir’s challenging and diverse repertoire includes literature that spans from standard classical literature to OU fight songs. The OU Men’s Glee Club performs regularly for on campus events and for special engagements off campus.
Participation in OU Men’s Glee Club fulfills a music major’s major ensemble requirement.
The Singing Sooners
This 16 voice entertainment ensemble will perform vocal jazz charts, show choir tunes, musical theater selections, arrangments of popular tunes, and OU spirit songs.
Solo opportunities will be available for all members!
(One hour of credit is available).
Collegium Musicum (early music ensemble) consists of auditioned members of the community, faculty, staff, and students who not only perform but also discuss aspects of choral repertoire, rehearsal, and performance techniques.
OU Opera Chorus
The OU Opera Chorus is an ensemble that performs with orchestra in fully staged productions by the Oklahoma Opera Theater. Performing in one or two operas each year, singers experience the thrill of combining great music with costumes, makeup, lighting, sets, scenery, and staging.
The University of Oklahoma Women's Chorus is a select ensemble made up of OU music majors and women in other majors throughout the University. The ensemble is dedicated to the performance of a beautiful and compelling repertoire created with the beauty of the female voice as the focal point.
