Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art Tours

“Awaken people's curiosity. It is enough to open minds, do not overload them. Put there just a spark.”  – Anatole France

Guided Tours

A museum docent can lead your group on a tour to see the highlights of the museum’s permanent collection, understand a particular art movement, or guide you through special exhibitions. A variety of tour topics are available. Tours are aimed at OU students, K-12 students, and other groups. Please schedule your docent-guided tour at least two weeks in advance.

iPod Tours

New iPod tours, which are available for use in the galleries free of charge, have been produced through a grant from the Albert and Ethel Herzstein Foundation of Houston, Texas. A businessman, entrepreneur and, ultimately, a philanthropist, Albert Herzstein dedicated his later years to the charitable foundation that bears his name and that of his equally generous wife, Ethel.

To rent, simply leave a valid driver's license at the front desk.

The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art's first audio tour explores how Impressionist artists used paint in innovative ways. The tour focuses on the Weitzenhoffer galleries of French Impressionism.
