An instrumental part of the University of Oklahoma’s tradition of excellence and rich history, The Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band has supported the Sooner Spirit for more than a century. To provide enduring resources to sustain the band’s success, The Pride is seeking private gifts to establish three funds that will help address the many musical and educational needs of the band and its outstanding student-musicians. We ask our alumni and friends to consider a gift to The Pride and offer the following options for support:
1. Pride of Oklahoma Patrons ($100 or more): For many Sooner fans, game day isn’t just about football. It’s also what happens on Owen Field before and at halftime – those eye-catching, spirited performances and arrangements by The Pride. With a gift of $100 or more, you can become a Pride of Oklahoma Patron. Your gift will help support The Pride while also giving you the opportunity to receive invitations to the pre-season Pride camp, game-day luncheons,end-of-season banquet and a golf tournament, as well as The Pride newsletter and e-mail updates.
2. Position Sponsorships ($15,000) and Section Sponsorships($50,000 to $500,000): From flute to tuba, and from baritone sax to bass drum, every instrumentalist and every instrumental section contribute to the exciting performances that have made the marching band live up to being called The Pride of Oklahoma and recognized for its excellence across the nation. With position and section sponsorships, our goal is to endow The Pride to ensure that it continues to be the very best organization of its kind in the nation. Naming opportunities are available to donors who endow individual position sponsorships at $15,000 or section sponsorships at $50,000 to$500,000 (depending on section size). These sponsorships will provide funds in perpetuity for recurring capital needs of the band program, including uniforms, instruments, and equipment, as well as stipends for the student-musicians.
