ADVISING PROCEDURES

SPRING 2012 ADVANCE REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

Advance Registration Begins October 31st - Senior Week

NEW Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy Students Procedure

  • MCEE requires all students new to the college, including new from University College students, new transfer students, and students changing majors within OU, to be advised by MCEE Student Services Academic Advisors their first semester. Note: students currently in University College are advised in University College only.
  • The MCEE advising dates are October 17th - November 17th.
  • Advising procedures for the Spring 2012 semesters:

*Call MCEE Student Services at 325-4005 to set up an advising appointment.

*Review Degree Navigator, create a trial schedule, and note Course Reference Numbers (CRNs).

CONTINUING Petroleum Engineering Students Procedure

  • All documentation of advising will be noted in the Degree Navigator “NOTES” Section by your advisor. Degree Navigator is your degree audit. Review Degree Navigator and be familiar with your degree requirements, create a trial schedule, and note Course Reference Numbers (CRNs).  Walk in to meet with faculty for advisement during an appropriate time scheduled below. If you miss the advising sessions below, you will delay your advising and enrollment until January 2012.
  • Group Faculty Advising Schedule - SEC 340 & 350

Students with early enrollment privileges - Mon. Oct 17th 3:00-5:00 (SEC 350 only) & Tues. Oct 18th 3:00-5:00 

Seniors - Mon. Oct 24th 3:00-5:00 & Tues. Oct 25th 3:00-5:00

Juniors - Mon. Oct 31st 3:00-5:00 & Tues. Nov 1st 3:00-5:00

Sophomores - Mon. Nov 7th 3:00-5:00 (SEC 350 only) & Tues. Nov 8th 3:00-5:00

CONTINUING Geology and Geophysics Students Procedure

  • All documentation of advising will be noted in the Degree Navigator “NOTES” Section by your advisor. Degree Navigator is your degree audit. Review Degree Navigator and be familiar with your degree requirements, create a trial schedule, and note Course Reference Numbers (CRNs) before your advising session.
  • CPGG Advising will begin Monday, October 17th.
