Veterans Assistance Benefits

The Montgomery GI Bill was created to help veterans of active duty military service pay for their education and training. 

VA benefits are payable to students admitted to a degree program in provisional, conditional and full admission status to the Graduate College. 

Full-time students will receive a monthly stipend while taking classes that should cover tuition, fees and books.

VA Benefits

To use VA benefits with OU, eligible students should:

  • Apply to the University of Oklahoma
  • Complete the Veterans Online Application at gibill.va.gov
  • Receive the Certificate of Eligibility
  • Give a copy to your Site Director
  • Email va@ou.edu to verify they have received your forms
  • Enroll in courses through Ozone.ou.edu
  • Email va@ou.edu when you:
    • Enroll in a course
    • Drop a course
    • The course dates are changed
    • The course is cancelled for any reason

Note: Students taking courses in Florida, Virginia, Hickam, San Diego or Nellis please contact your Site Director to apply for VA benefits
