Price Scholars Program
New York City
A high-profile component of the Oklahoma MBA program is the Price Scholars program. Capitalizing on our association with New York University’s Stern School of Business, up to nine students are selected annually to spend the summer interning and studying in New York City.
"I had the opportunity to work at the company that revolutionized the way institutional customers trade securities and share my thoughts and ideas with the best minds in the industry. The Price Scholars program can be tremendously beneficial for anyone that wants to start a career in the financial capital of the world."
-Atanas Mihnev, 2011 Price Scholar
While in NYC, students:
- Participate in a high-quality internship in the New York financial district or in the corporate offices of the world’s commercial leaders
- Take a course at the Stern School of Business. Some examples of NYU courses include Private Equity Finance, Venture Capital Financing and Financial Statement Analysis.
- Participate in an internationally recognized Value Investing seminar at Columbia University, where students are exposed to detailed discussion and analysis of value investing principles and practices, taught by leaders in the field
- Network with area alumni, receiving significant exposure to advanced opportunities in NYC and the financial industry
Each Price Scholar receives a scholarship to fully cover NYU tuition, housing in the NYU graduate dorms, books and fees, transportation and incidental expenses (approximately $13,000).
Students have interned with companies such as:
- Goldman Sachs
- Auerbach Grayson
- Jeffries & Co.
- JP Morgan
- Ernst & Young
"The Price Scholars experience has been invaluable in my development as an MBA student. Between the classes at NYU’s Stern School of Business and Bruce Greenwald’s Value Investing seminar at Columbia University, I have been exposed to high level academic practices. My internship in the Financial Planning and Analysis unit at Liquidnet, gave me the experience I needed to begin a career in commercial banking."
-Evan Grace, 2010 Price Scholar
2012 Price Scholars
In preparation for their summer internships, 2012 Price Scholars spent a week exploring New York City in early spring to interview with local companies, meet industry leaders including Michael Price, and familiarize themselves with the area.
Siji Olusola, one of six Price Scholars who will be interning and studying in New York this summer, was especially excited about attending the Stern School of Business and the opportunity to develop relationships with classmates that are already in the workforce.
