NEW STUDENT SURVEY
In your confirmation email there is a link to the New Student Survey. This confidential survey helps University College develop programs and initiatives to better suit your needs and interests. You must complete the New Student Survey at least one week prior to your enrollment day.
TITLE IX TRAININIG
Prior to enrollment, all University students are required to successfully complete the mandatory online training located at www.onpoint.ou.edu
Federal law and University policy mandate compliance with this training and the University's Sexual Misconduct, Discrimination and Harassment Policy at www.ou.edu/eoo.
If you have technical difficulties, please contact the IT Help Desk at 405-325-4357.
Students will be required to take placement tests in Math, English, and Reading BEFORE the day of their enrollment appointment. Testing will depend on ACT/SAT subscores, declared major/undecided major and transfer work.
All students should plan to test in math unless your ACT/SAT math subscore places you in the college-level math course needed for your intended major. Undecided majors should plan to test unless your math ACT/SAT subscore places you into a college-level calculus course.
Use the Math ACT/SAT Chart and the Math Requirement Chart to see if you will need to assess in math before your enrollment appointment. If you cannot place into the math course listed on the Math Requirement Chart for your intended major via your math ACT/SAT subscores, you will need to test before your enrollment appointment.
*Please note: the Math Requirement Chart lists the minimum math required. Some majors will have additional math requirements. For more information on major requirements, go to Degree Sheets.
You will not need to test if your English ACT is 19 or higher, SAT 450 or higher, OR if you have already successfully completed a college composition course by AP or transfer credit.
You will not need to test if your Reading ACT is 19 or higher, SAT verbal 450 or higher, OR if you have already successfully completed a heavy reading course at the college-level, such as history or government.
Language placement will be required for students who wish to enroll in a foreign language or to satisfy the language requirement for the College of Arts & Sciences, Education, International & Area Studies, or Journalism.
IMPORTANT: As per Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education policy, students testing into developmental/remedial coursework must successfully remediate deficient subject areas at the earliest time but within the first 24 college-level hours attempted.*For questions about which assessments you need to take and when they need to be taken, please contact the UC Enrollment Program at 405-325-3544.
*For questions about the assessment test or setting up a Remote Test, please contact the Assessment Center at 405-325-4336.
