Classroom Visits & Workshops
Writing consultants are always available to visit your classes and demonstrate how a peer tutoring session works.
If you would like a classroom visit from the Writing Center for your students, please email Donna Benge with the following:
- number of students
- course listing
- person to contact (name, email, phone number)
- type of presentation (10 minute introduction to the Writing Center or a specific topic of your choice)
- date, time, and location of visit
Our bookmarks serve as a handy reminder for your students to visit the Writing Center. Just let us know how many you need and where to send them. To request bookmarks, email Donna Benge with the number requested, date requested, campus address, and course number.
If you have a D2L site, please add our link to your course pages: www.ou.edu/writingcenter
Below is a statement about the writing center that you can copy and paste into your current syllabus or add to your D2L site.
Most universities have a writing center, a place for students, faculty, and staff to meet and talk about writing. The Writing Center here at OU is a resource I encourage you to use. As a writer you will want to seek feedback from many different readers. The writing consultants at the writing center are able to talk with you about your writing--at any stage in the process and for any course you are taking.
You can make an appointment (online or by phone) and you can drop in whenever they are open. I urge you to visit the web site for more information: www.write.ou.edu.
