This faculty learning community will investigate how social media has both influenced and been implemented in higher education. Why use Twitter, Facebook, or other social media for learning? For learning what?
Discussions may focus on emergent best practices as well as on research on social media for learning. Participants will discuss how social media tools can/may influence the courses taught at OU.

Dr. FitzSimmons was at the University of Illinois at Urbana ‒ Champaign for 15 years where he got Ph.D. (2010) in Curriculum and Instruction for the College of Education, as well as an M.S. and B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (2000, 1998).
He has 11+ years of experience in faculty development where his areas of interests include faculty and organizational development, departmental-level faculty development, STEM education, and technology integration in the classroom.
