This Unique Training will provide the opportunity for specialized instruction on forensic child interviewing and how the interview can assist law enforcement with their investigation; the steps of investigationg child maltreatment offinses; exploring problems and obstacles that often arise during the investigation and prosecution; courtroom testimony and acquainting participants with the workings of the defense. Presenters: Bill Walsh is a Reserve Dallas Police Officer assigned to the Internet Crimes against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Prior to his retirement, he was a 26-year veteran of the Dallas Police Department, where he was a lieutenant and served as the commander of the Crimes Against Children Unit, which includes the Child Abuse Squad, the Child Exploitation Squad and the Sex Offender Compliance Squad. Julie Kenniston is the training and education coordinator at the Butler County Children Services Board in Hamilton, Ohio. She is also an independent contractor and trainer presenting nationally and internationally on interviewing, investigation, and the prosecution of child abuse cases. Lawrence Braunstein is a partner in the law firm of Braunstein and Zuckerman, Esqs, in White Plains, New York. Since 1985, he has specialized in child custody litigation and the defense of child sexual abuse, physical abuse and shaken baby allegations in matrimonial, family and criminal cases, as well as representing the parents of children who have been sexually abused, and representing victims of sexual abuse in civil litigation against the perpetrator of the abuse.
