This workshop will introduce Child Welfare Specialists to competencies that will help them protect and control the safety of children at risk of abuse or neglect. The training will cover risk and safety and then how to distinguish the difference between the two. Participants will learn the importance of integrating culture and diversity when assessing risk and safety. In addition, this class will cover the proper use of assessment tools and clinical resources when determining a child’s safety. Assessment training will help lay the foundation for Child Welfare Specialists to make rational decisions as well as identify interventions that can mitigate risk and increase safety. |
