This Level 1 training is an overview of policy and best practice in Family Centered Service casework. The training will also include discussions on the philosophy and history of FCS services, poor prognosis indicators, assisting clients to identify protective capacities and how to determine whether or not it is an FCS case. At the end of this one day training participants will be able to: Identify and apply the philosophy and purpose of FCS within the scope of CPS and/ or Permanency Planning; Apply FCS protocols in their investigation and identify whether or not cases qualify to become FCS cases; Assist clients in identifying protective capacities to promote safety and family preservation; Engage and apply skills that motivate clients to access services in support of their plan.

Training Group: This workshop is mandatory for new workers who have completed CORE Training. Workers are enrolled in this training by the CW training section. If there are available slots, the workshop will be unrestricted for addition-al enrollment two weeks prior to the work-shop.
