Placement of children in the Child Welfare system follows a continuum of care from the least restrictive to the most restrictive. Any placement for custody children should be planned and goal directed. Out of Home Care training will provide an in-depth overview of placements for children in the child welfare system.  Characteristics of each type of placement will be covered as well as the referral process, services provided in each, roles and responsibilities of supervisors and workers toward placement providers and children in care, and most importantly, guidelines for decision-making regarding placements.
